THE FILM

“Tables Turned” has been 10 years in the making. Writer Ian David Noakes, and Director Katherine Shannon have made this a passion project. It will be shot in Ramsgate, utilising as many local talents as possible, and has the support of the Ambulance, Police & Fire Services, who wish to use it as an Educational Resource.

The film will be screened at International Film Festivals, with the idea that the team will continue to work together to celebrate Independent films.

Featured below are just some of the reviews from the Tables Turned amazon listing.

---’5 stars’---
A thoughtful short story which shows the problems we in the UK are having with a criminal youth that, although a small number, create much pain and suffering for people around them. A bit of a turnabout happens in the story which is well crafted and thoughtful. Does not explain fully why people have such a lack of regard for those around them, but it is a novella and does not pretend to be a serious guideline. It makes you think though.

---‘Intense, unsettling and highly entertaining’---
“Tables Turned” is a tight, tense one sitting romp. A vignette of a single mother, a recent widow, who’s neighborhood inhabitants are being terrorized by group of unruly teens, who’s actions are blurring the line between disrespect and assault. She’s managed to not cross paths with the delinquent youths until one night when “Rosie”. The female of the group, is caught breaking into the mother’s home.
I really dug this short piece from Mr. Noakes. He does a wonderful job portraying the anxiety and desperation of this family, the entitlement of the youths and the ability for situations fueled by dread to spiral out of control. It taps into a deep seeded fear of living in a time of immediate altercations and a slice of the public that feels they can do whatever, whenever. Without the fear repercussions.
Intense, unsettling and highly entertaining,. Check out “Tables Turned”.

---’Five Star Suspense Ride’---
I flew threw this book, carried along on a tidal wave of cleverly constructed suspense, bone chilling concepts and high paced drama. You instantly despise the awful youths, terrorising families in their own houses, threatening everything that is sacred about ‘home’. I strongly felt the inner battle this woman was dealing with, in a sense of how far will she actually go, and that this strength was helping her face the yobs but also pulling her back from totally losing it. I really needed to get to the end, just to have relief!

___________

WHY WE NEED FUNDING
We need independent funding to make this film to ensure creative control for excellence, and originality. Thanet is a defined area, and film support is limited. We are trying to inspire local film makers, both from college & professionally, to encourage local industry. Many production companies have come here, including “EastEnders” and “The Tunnel”, and we aim to encourage investment for this beautiful and intriguing natural environment.

___________

VALUE IN THIS PROJECT
1. This project is an important reflection of the dangers of bullying and the repercussions for those of all ages - many of whom are too scared to voice their fears.

2. This film is supported by the NHS of Emergency Services as an educational resource.

3. Although the film will be shot so that the audience can identify with the situation, in an immediate an intimate way, to be both shocking and sympathetic, much attention to detail will be the primary concern of the crew. We aim to provide a satisfying and memorable experience.

4. The writer already has a good audience demographic, but we are keen to develop long term relationship with investors. Please see all investment perks below and please feel free to add your comments for future investments.
