The day that changed our life... August 23rd 2018. My sister was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Ovarian Cancer. It had spread to her lungs and around her abdomen. It was diagnosed as a very aggressive cancer because they ran CT scans and MRI's at the regional hospital and everything was clear a couple months prior to her diagnosis.
She had to start Chemo A.S.A.P.
Our journey to healing her began a couple days after.
Her Story;
A couple months prior to her diagnosis we were having fun and not worrying as much, even tho she was in pain a lot and been to the E.R countless times and every visit was dismissed.
It was until she became weaker we knew something was really wrong.
We continued to go back to the E.R and had to fight for her and beg the doctors to run more tests.
Lots of Emergency Room visits and lots of doctor appointments later it was confirmed. My sister has cancer, I thought to myself; she's so young, only 32.
She finished her first full Chemo Therapy treatment session in January and we started consulting with a surgeon to remove a malignant mass in her abdomen. After the surgery we were clear sailing- or that's what it seemed like.
Due to it being a very aggressive cancer it spread further to other parts of her body :(. She now has to undergo radiation therapy.
The funds raised will go towards things she needs such as her pills, home care nurses, hospital visits, travel costs to different cities to consult with different doctors.
update: We just received news and the rest of her treatment is going to cost at least $40,000. :(
