Fighting for baby Tucker!

Tucker Robert Giguere has spent the first 6 weeks of his life in the nicu and currently there is no end in sight for him. He spent the first 5 weeks at Maine Med in Portland, they were amazing but unfortunately they could not find any diagnosis for Tucker’s seizures and breathing problems so they decided his best option was to be transferred to Boston Children's Hospital where he has now been for almost a week. Tucker had a very rough start to life due to delivery complications that forced him to undergo a cooling treatment to bring down the swelling around his brain. After 72 hours of cooling they warmed him back up and that’s when the seizures started. Off his meds Tucker was having 40+ seizures a day yet all his MRIs look normal and every test they have run has come back normal as well. They have done blood work, spinal taps, genetic testing on Tucker, his mom and his dad and we still know nothing. Along with his seizures he can not breathe on his own without oxygen which they think is also neurological. Even on a ventilator Tucker stops breathing usually at least twice a day but all the tests they’ve run for this have also come back normal. Boston is focusing on his seizures right now as they’re hoping the two are related and once the seizures are under control his breathing will even out. As we all know Medical bills add up quickly, along with the gas that’s spent everyday while Tuckers parents are traveling to Boston to be by his side. They have both been so strong but I couldn’t imagine the stress and defeat they are feeling. So let’s try and take some of that weight off there shoulders and come together and show their little family that they are not alone and we are here to love and support them through this journey
