Fight Like Elaine

  My name is Stephanie and 3 weeks ago we found out our mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Take a step back, yes breast cancer. In these situations you never think it will happen to you or your family, or in our case our mom. Our hearts broke when we got this news. And now we just want to help her in any way we can.  
  Unfortunately one breast is fully engulfed and she will have to have a full mastectomy possibly a double mastectomy. Before she can have the mastectomy she will go through 6 months of chemo.  After she has surgery she will start radiation and will be taking medication for 5 years.

  She has spent 23 years teaching  in the public school system. She is in her 24th year of teaching but she is now working at a charter school in Charlotte NC. The problem she is facing now being at this new school is she is not able to transfer any of her vacation days/ sick days. She hasn't been at this school long enough to have any time built up for sick days so all of her initial appointments so far have been without pay. And we are not sure what she will be able to do while going through chemo. Working with children isn't the best when your immune system is under attack. 
  We are trying to raise money so that while she will be out of work she will not have to worry about her basic necessities and her ever growing medical bills. Anything helps and we appreciate anything you can donate to help her. If you can not financially help her we fully understand but if you could please keep her in your thoughts and prayers while she is battling this. She is a very strong faithtful woman  and I know she can get through this! She has a lot to fight for and she is loved by so many!
