Field of Medicine Program

Izaiah is a young man who has faced and overcome many obstacles on his life's path.  Diagnosed with autism, he especially faced challenges in his relationships with people and academic success in his younger years.  However, he and his family made use of the resources available to him, and for the past several years, Izaiah has developed true and lasting friendships and is a straight A student. 

One of Izaiah's life goals is to work in the field of medicine, as many in his family have.  Because of his dedication and commitment to this goal, as well as his extreme intelligence, Izaiah was nominated to attend a prestigious medical field program next summer.  His family, friends, educators, and community would love to see him attend this camp, but finances are tight; his mother has Multiple Sclerosis (one of the reasons he's inspired to pursue the medical field) and is unable to work.  His step-father is a private contractor.  They live in a very small town in a very rural community, so wages for work completed are not high.   Izaiah recently completed a job interview at a local nursing facility, but has yet to start working.    

We are asking for this money to cover the cost of the program (approximately $3600), the cost of earning 2 college credits for completing the program, airfare to and from the program, as well as Izaiah's supper meals while he is there.   The deadline for enrolling in this program is November 30, 2018.  Izaiah needs to pay an initial amount of around $900 at the time of enrollment to secure his spot in the program, and will then pay the rest of the balance in equal amounts over the next five months. 

Izaiah is a very hard-working young man, so he would be happy to also complete odd jobs for pay if you are located in his hometown.  Please consider donating to help this bright young man become one step closer to his career goal!
