As many of my friends and family know two of my children suffer with an unspecified mitochondrial disease. Recently Sarahs gastrointestinal system has been greatly affected by her mitochondrial disease and as a result she is unable to digest her food properly "gastroparesis" as well as not being able to move her bowels effecively "slow transit constipation". Special diets are required and daily use of laxatives. The pain, nausea, reflux are awful. Along with this her autonomic nervous system does not function properly "Dysautonomia" and impacts her life daily with dizziness,blackouts from low blood pressure, vascular pooling, times of debilitating fatigue and pain. Ryan as well suffers with many of the same gastrointestinal issues as well as celiac disease, dysautonomia, Ehlers danlos syndrome and Asperger's Syndrome. Ryan is currently receiving physical therapy for his knee which continues to dislocate frequently sometimes just from walking. Ryan has suffered with hearing loss and is now requiring hearing aids. There's so much more to say......These kids are the strongest, bravest kids I know. I could continue with an even longer list of this disease has drastically impacted their lives and their ability to participate in life as a typical person. And my Brandon who's such a good kid and deserves the trip as well. Sarah had a make a wish trip when she was 3 1/2, it was amazing but unfortunately she doesnt remember it and so much has happened since then. Sarah has been asking to go to florida to see her extended family and to re-visit disney as well as the HarryPotter World for the last few years. (Our whole family are huge Harry Potter fans). Please, help me make this wish come true for our whole family. I was planning to fund this trip myself for the most part but the recent need for hearing aids for Ryan cost us $4,600. Please share this with as many people as you can. This trip was planned for April 23 - May 2nd. I can't handle disappointing these kids again. I promised them this trip. Please help my family.
