OBSERVATION:
A girl gang with a fatal attraction to paranormal investigation develops a new approach to supernatural research – focusing on the who instead of the what – in order to tell some amazing stories of everyday Americans, living and dead, involved in paranormal activity.
HYPOTHESIS:
Inspired by ghosts stories, unrelenting curiosity, and a passion for storytelling, this summer, Femme Fatale Paranomal Research is setting out on a month-long road trip across the southeastern United States to investigate haunted locations. During this time, we will be shooting a short documentary to help start a new conversation involving paranormal activity that focuses on telling the stories of the people, dead and alive, rather than exploiting the science and entities for entertainment.
EXPERIMENT:
The documentary will show the entire process of a typical paranormal investigation from start to finish. We will first explain the location and the reported paranormal activity being experienced by the client. Next, we will explore the histories of the people and the place, which may help us focus our investigation and trigger more paranormal activity. Then, we will interview the client and learn how the activity has affected their every day life. Finally, we will conduct the investigation, analyze any evidence we find, and discuss it with the client.
Our investigations will involve audio sessions where we ask the spirits questions and hope to catch Electronic Voice Phenomonon (EVP recordings). We will also take Electro-Magnetic Field (EMF) readings, using other scientific equipment to make communication with the dead easier, and take photographs and video recordings, all while attempting to debunk paranormal ocurrances with natural explanations.
After the investigation is over and the evidence has been analyzed, we will attempt to match our findings with the historical research done prior to the investigation and discuss the meaning of this evidence in order to piece together the story of who or what could be haunting the location.
In short, with each location comes a new story to tell, and we will be using paranormal investigation to enrich the history of southeastern Americans.
ANALYSIS:
With this film, we hope to showcase the daily experiences real people face when dealing with paranormal entities. This film is meant to depict the human side of supernatural activity, which means we will be documenting not only the investigations we conduct, but the effects that the paranormal has on the every day people who live and work in haunted places around the southeastern US. We will also be analyzing the evidence in hopes of bringing the stories of the people who could potentially be haunting these locations to light.
RESEARCHERS:
Holly Wood - Producer / Lead Investigator
Holly served as the President of Wilmington Paranormal Research for three years. While on the team, she coordinated and led over a dozen paranormal investigations. With a background in anthropology, Holly wishes to observe the human aspects of paranormal research in order to identify the far-reaching effects the "unseen" has on reality, regardless if there is an entity involved.
Suzi Fera - Producer / Lead Investigator
Suzi investigated with Wilmington Paranormal Research for two years, during which she participated in dozens of paranormal investigations. In her second year with the group, she served as the Researcher/Historian. In this position, Suzi was responsible for researching the history of investigated locations and their reported paranormal activity. She then presented her findings to the group prior to the investigations so the team could focus on aspects of the locations' history that might trigger the most paranormal activity. With a background in filmmaking, Suzi is excited to take a different approach to paranormal research entertainment by focusing on the stories of the ordinary people who live and work around paranormal activity on a daily basis rather than making a spectacle of the dead for entertainment. She also wishes to analyze the implication of the evidence discovered in her investigations to tell the stories of the entities who could be haunting the locations; their stories deserve to be told.

MATERIALS:
As you can see in our budget breakdown, all of our Essentials are in shades of purple. These Essentials include gas to get us to and from our filming locations, hotels and lodging to rest during our stays, and meals to keep us satiated and alert.
Our next biggest costs are fees – or, Holes in which money is thrown. These Holes include investigation fees and/or donations for our filming locations, and they also include film festival fees, which typically hover around $50 per submission.
Finally, we need Equipment to actually make this film! Most of the items we need are ghost-hunting gear, like flashlights and walkie talkies, and the rest are media and electronic storage oriented, like external hard drives. It's spooky how much these items cost!
CONCLUSION:
100% of your contributions will go toward purchasing the necessary equipment for our investigations, paying for travel expenses (gas, hotels, food, and vehicle maintenance), investigation fees, as well as filmmaking costs like post-production and festival fees.
