Festerly Family Support

Donation protected
On August 25th at 3am, Krystal Festerly, owner and mind behind The Village Magazine, woke up to her husband, Nehemiah, screaming for help. She found him in the middle of a Grand Mal seizure, on the floor, bloody and unresponsive to her calls after falling from the bed. At one point, he stopped breathing and turned blue, at which point with the guidance of 911 on the phone she had to administer CPR- all the while their 3 young daughters (ages 5 and under) looked on. An eventful ambulance drive to the emergency room later, they got the news that their world would be flipped upside down, and this was more than a rare, single occurring seizure.

Nehemiah was diagnosed with an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) in the frontal lobe of brain, suffered another Grand Mal seizure, and was placed on heavy medications to attempt and suppress future seizure activity. As a result, he has lost his driver license, his job of operating heavy machinery and traveling between hospital sites, requires 24/7 supervision, and is battling a long road of recovery toward the life he used to live. Everything that used to be the families normal, is now weighed down with the stress and burden of Krystal having to divide her duties as the primary caregiver to their daughters, her husband, finances, the home, and having to figure out a way to afford an extremely expensive and rare medication not covered by the families current health insurance which Nehemiah will require long term.

Thank you, from the bottom of all those closest to the Festerly family’s heart, for considering donating to help during this hard time to lift the financial burden which has been unexpectedly placed on their shoulders. With Nehemiah being the family of five’s primary income provider, any amount will go a long way towards his long road to recovery, Krystal’s ability to provide for the family, and daughters Charlotte, Maxine, and Eleanor’s day to day normalcy.
