Feminist Fiber Art World Travels

Donation protected

Feminist Fiber Art is a traveling, community art exhibit organized around feminist principles of liberation, intersectionality, and inclusion. We  organize formal exhibitions, DIY music shows, benefits for women's shelters and feminist charities, host arts and craft nights, teach workshops, and sell our work at pop-up events and on the internet. We are a collective of hundreds of artists from around the world. You can learn more about our initiative on our website and instagram

So far we have had pop-up events in Boston, Philadelphia, Rochester, Seattle, and L.A.. We would like to organize a cross-country tour and travel to new  countries to spread the gospel of fiber art and feminism.

Our list of cities to visit currently includes: Brooklyn (NY), Burlington (VT), Buffalo (NY), Capetown (South Africa), Denver (CO), Detroit (MI), Ithaca (NY), London (England), Memphis (TN), Porland (OR), San Francisco (CA), Toronto (Canada), and Sydney (Australia).

Help us raise enough money and maybe we can come to YOUR city! We will use the money we raise through this campaign to cover curatorial fees, travel expenses, exhibition materials, and to commission artwork for pop-up events.

Our founder Iris Nectar started this project without financial support from any institution and has only been able to survive with support from friends, family, and the DIY community. Having your financial assistance to help us travel the world means we can expand our project and fight even harder for the women, NB, and trans artists that we represent as well as celebrate male fiber artists that are often looked down upon for doing "women's work."
