Help feed Steven!
Can you imagine having to spend $475 a WEEK to feed your child? Me neither. But that's exactly what Andrea Gangel is facing.
Steven Gangel-Balsdon is just 14-months old and is allergic to cow’s milk. He also can’t tolerate any dairy substitutes, but he needs them to make up at least 50% of his daily nutrition. The only thing that works for Steven is a special amino acid-based formula called Neocate. He will need it for at least another year, but the funding his family was recieving to pay for it has been cut off because he can now eat some solids.
To feed Steven his family is spending $70 a day, or $25,000 for the next year. A debilitating amount for most families. Let's help them get Steven what he needs now while they fight for their government funding!
I didn't know Steven's mom Andrea before this, but I reached out to her on Facebook after seeing this article and we have become friends. She doesn't want to be in the news, she just wants to advocate for her son. I felt moved by her story because I have a son the same age, I too am from Oshawa and this could have happened to me, so I want to do something. 100% of the proceeds gathered here will go to Steven's family to purchase the special formula he needs.

We will also be sending letters to our local MPP to ask for help in getting this funding policy reviewed and the organizations decision reversed. I will update when I have more information.
