Help Puerto Rico Distribute Supplies
What an unbelievable few weeks it has been. I've worked along side the military, local and federal law enforcement, the mayor, and some pretty amazing people. Thank you everyone who has helped but the fight is not over. Today I am in the outside of the island headed into the mountains to bring food and water filters to an area that has seen no supplies or relief since the storm. That's one full month with no food or water coming in. It breaks my heart everytime I reach an area like this, but I filled me with joy to be. Able to provide them with clean water and sustenance. One of the hardest parts of these missions is actually getting the supplies to the area. Today we are lucky enough to have the military bringing us in the Humvee to access this area, however 99% of the time we are providing our own vehicles, our own gas, and renting slot of trucks and personal to get these goods from the airports to the people. Our team has been giving aid to the people of PR every single day since we've been here and have spent somewhere in excess of $11,000 of our own money facilitating these missions. The private sector is heading up this entire relief effort here. We are out of money. We've just received six thousand meals, and have 25,000 lbs of food coming in today, and need to keep moving those goods into the people's hands. Thank you everyone who has donated! You've have enabled us to bring communications and relief to PR, but we need more help! Please share if you can. We are gassing up 5 vehicles a day for deliveries. Getting the food/water here is only half the battle. Getting it distributed to the island is a whole other ball game. Thank you friends!
