Kimo's Trip of a Lifetime

Donation protected
Kimo Boone is a 16-year-old High School student, currently attending Fairfield High School in California as a junior. At a very young age, Kimo was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This is a rare genetic disorder that is only seen in about 1 in every 3,600 boys. Slowly throughout the life of the individual with this disorder will face muscle weakness. The tissues and muscles of the individual will slowly start wasting away, starting with the lower body and begins to move to the upper extremities including the neck and other vital muscle groups. At a very young age, the affected boys are left wheelchair bound.

This disorder is something that takes hold of his life, and attempts to block out any other aspects that Kimo may find to enjoy. Yet for Kimo, this is not the case. Kimo is a young man who is full of adventure, and curiosity. He is constantly seeking out new things in life, and always looking for a new experience. Recently Kimo was admitted to the hospital due to some complications, and he was told that his heart was barely working at 10%. Despite this, Kimo is continuing to seek adventure. He has shown an extreme interest in travelling to New Orleans and experiencing Mardi Gras. To him this thrilling, exciting experience is all he wants to continue his interest in adventure. As many know, any trip is expensive, and that is where we all come in. Any amount people can give will go an extremely long way in helping us achieve Kimo’s long time life goal to travel and seek excitement. Thank you for your consideration, and thank you in advance for any form of contribution you can make.
