Sharon's cancer battle

Sharon was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and fought bravely and overcome this hurdle. In that time she was Shellharbour Relay for Life Ambassador, and has helped with Shellharbour Relay ever since in an effort to make a difference in other people’s lives.

Sharon now has pancreatic cancer which has spread to other organs, and her battle now is far fiercer than the last. She is trialling a new chemotherapy drug which has just recently been added to the PBS but she has been told that she is incurable. She has three young daughters and is unable to work due to her illness. As you can imagine the stress of bills and a mortgage is weighing heavily on her family.
