Hello everyone! My name is Juan, I'm 30 years old. My best friend's name is Neko. She is a 12 year old, short haired domestic black cat. She's like my daughter. I've had her since she was 2 months old.
She's always been a clever and healthy girl. Rarely did she ever get sick or did she have to go to the vet for anything.
Last week, I picked her up, as I always do. And I felt a strange lump on her right side. Near her armpit. Of course this gave me a cause for concern so I called the vet's office and made an appointment for consultation!

The diagnosis was definitely not what I wanted to hear ; she has a cancerous tumor. Common in cat's who aren't spayed (which she isn't) and very deadly if not taken care of as soon as it's noticed. Neko is my best friend. It took everything in my power to not cry in front of the vet. So some x-rays and 325 dollars later, I get the estimate for surgery. It's just under 2,300.00.
I can't afford it. I bartend at a hotel. It's a very slow season for me. The holidays don't help since I've already spent money on gifts. My hours have been cut from work because it's the slow season. I really need a Christmas miracle. I love her so much. Neko has been there for me when no one else has. I have depression and anxiety disorder. There have been times when I felt like I didn't have the strength to live. But Neko was always there. She didn't have to do much. Just jump on me and purr when I was crying and feeling down. But that was enough for me to want to keep going. Because if I'm not around, who would take care of this precious little feline?
My heart is aching. My gut, wrenched. I worry for my fuzzy friend. I need help. She needs help. So please, if anyone could help us. I would forever be grateful. Anything helps. Even just a dollar. Please.
