WHO I AM AND WHY FAVOR FILMS WAS FOUNDED
My name is Lorenzo Yearby. I am a local Atlanta actor turned Screenwriter.
I started Favor Films due to being tired of being offered lead roles in major films to portray ever growing negative stereotypes of African American young men. Drug dealer, robber, killer, and as I always say, "roles that required dropping 32 F-bombs."
From beginning to end I am happy to keep my integrity, but after awhile I realized I had to try to make a change. Acting is something I want to do, but how could I have a chance to when I'm unsettled with 75% of my audition opportunities.
I have a passion to make clean films with strong narratives around real life issues that the entire family can watch. Films will be everything from Dramas, Comedies and Modernized Bible Stories. These films will be just like your everyday films, but clean.
I have a desire to create acting jobs for actors who share these same values.
I am mainly a screenwriter/director, but also act as Director of Photography,Gaffer.

WHY ARE WE RAISING MONEY?
"Selfless," my first film was written in only 3 hours in an attempt to get familiar with the technical side of production flow. Funded out of my pocket.
Although, I feel technically it turned out well as far as quality. The equipment we used was very out of date, or not up to standard, from a 10 year old laptop, an entry level family vacation camera, a rode mic without even so much as a deadcat(ummm well filmmakers know what that is.
My point is we made a film using what we had, but it added to the stress of the work load. Especially, the computer that would take 26 to 80 seconds just to delete a clip before you I could edit again.
WE NEED NEW EQUIPMENT :)
The laptop screen only works if it's laid out before the lord. It will not work upright.
Our new computer build after receiving some of your donations. :) Praying to keep moving forward.
WHAT WILL THE MONEY BE USED FOR
Donors will be emailed reciepts for equipment purchases to see where funds are going.
Equipment to shoot our upcoming projects.
1. To buy parts to build desktop for editing(laptop is done)
2. New Camera
3. Lenses
4. Audio
5. Other technical equipment
Some of these films will be online, but some will be ideas we have be commissioned to shoot to pitch the concepts to larger studios to reach a larger audience. These are not your normal bible story concepts. They are ..."different." :)

I know most crowd funders are to shoot an exact said project, but that's why I spent time and my own money producing a complete film for you. No money was made from "Selfless" or not one ticket sold to the screening. We are not in this for money or fame.
All of this is to continue the purpose of positive, inspirational, faith based, and clean family entertainment that many are looking for.
WHEN?
We are looking to start shooting by mid-May, early June
This company means so much to me because I feel it is my purpose. You can go through life making millions, but if you don't fulfill your purpose. It means nothing.
