Father passed, mother needing help

My father passed away on the 29th of Februrary leaving little behind. Also due to timing my mother will not receive his SSI check for April and she does not qualify for SSI.

My mother has medicaid, but not SSI. She has been declined every time she applied for it. So, without my father's SSI she has no income. She must apply for surviver benefits which can take 2-3 months to be approved. Between now and then the mortage and power bill is still due.

The life insurance company that my father had is arguing that because he died of lung cancer(smoking) that he no longer qualifies for his plan. At the time he signed he was not a smoker, and while we might could get the money in court even this will take more time.

To make things worse it appears that things my father did leave behind to be sold were stolen. Things like a 24kt gold pocket watch from the 1900s. These items were meant to be sold to cover expenses should something happen, and they are gone.

Lastly my mother had to pay 1,000 to the funeral home for cremation of my father. This took what little money she had remaining for bills.

Anything will help and everything will be given to my mother to help pay her bills. She is currently selling anything of value to pawn shops to try and pay the mortgage. I am not financially able to support both my mother's bills and my own, so with that in mind I am asking for help.

My mother was informed today that one of her feet will have to be removed due to an infection that has now spread to the bone. She broke her ankle an unknown amount of time ago, and because her leg already swells from diabetes plus high blood pressure it was overlooked. She had been walking on it for possibly months by the time it was caught.
