The United Nations commission on human rights has confirmed that there is an ethnic cleansing under way in the region of South Sudan. Villages have been completely destroyed, there has been massacres and gang rapes and mass starvation. The fight between political parties and military groups have left innocent civilians to be used as collateral damage, the conflict has been escalating since 2003 leaving nearly 3 million people to be displaced. Unfortunately, the young women and girls are used as the tools for the ethnic cleansing through armed rape. According to a UN survey, 70% of women in Juba have experienced sexual assault during the civil conflict.
As it stands many families are fled to seek refuge in neighbouring Uganda, even so, there is no prevision given by the government to ensure their safety. The plight of these families are being forgotten by the world and I’m aiming to shine a light back to the dark shadows that has been casted over South Sudan for so long.
I am looking to start a fashion label, to sell both male and female garments to raise awareness for the civil war, and to raise enough funds to send back to support families and communities. I myself am a fashion student and WILL be involved in the making of the garments.

This situation is very close to my heart because not many years ago my family fled from a civil war in Uganda. If it wasn't for the generosity of people, we wouldn't have been so lucky to be in Australia today. Unfortunately my uncle and his family are now in hiding from all the guns and trauma and with your help, I can be able to help them. No matter the size of the donation, you'll be helping many families and children who have lost their parents.
