The Farley Foundation and Deja Blu need you!

Holland Street Veterinary Services (HSVS) in Bradford, Ontario and The Farley Foundation are helping a well deserving local dog get important medical care. All donations made will go directly to Deja’s expenses at the clinic, and anything above the goal will be given back to The Farley Foundation!

Who is Deja? She is a 9yr old Labrador Retriever living with her mom in Bradford, ON. In 2018, Deja developed a concerning lump on her hind foot. Her mom and the staff at HSVS were worried about the possibility of cancer and prayed that Deja had many more happy years ahead of her. A plan was made to remove the lump which would also require amputating her outter toe with it! Given the risk that it might be malignant, the Doctors recommended screening Deja for metastasis elsewhere in her body. Blood Work and Radiographs were clear of evidence that the potential cancer was spreading so the decision was made to go ahead with surgery.
Deja underwent surgery on February 12, 2019 and had the lump with toe (and two other lumps removed on her body) were sent to a Pathologist for testing. Deja will require frequent rechecks, bandage changes and medication to help her heal from this surgery. Deja’s mom would do anything to help her baby, but funds play a role too. This is where The Farley Foundation and YOU come in. 

What is The Farley Foundation? It is a foundation that helps low-income families in Ontario by subsidizing the cost of non-elective Veterinary Care for their sick or injured pet. Families must qualify to receive funds either through Disability, ON Works, Supplemented Seniors, or more. Funds are allocated to each clinic annually through the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA). 
This year we received $1000 in funds from The Farley Foundation for Deja. We still need help to cover the remaining surgery and continuing care costs.

Any donations above the goal will be given directly back to The Farley Foundation! We know Deja and her mom would be grateful for your help and we all hope for a benign diagnosis!
