Family of 6 - Need Help Urgently - Please Read

WHO AM I: Hi, my name is Rose Boyd/Vittitoe (Rose Allen was my maiden name) and many of you may know me from school and/or work in the Amboy, Yacolt, Battle Ground, Woodland area. I am currently assisting a family of 6, 2 parents and 4 children, who have been displaced from their home due various circumstances. THEIR SITUATION: Without getting too personal, these parents faced illness, a temporary lack of work, a financial burden that liquidated their savings in November and house that was contaminated with mold forcing them to move out with little notice after Christmas. Both parents worked and all four children attend schools in the area. Given the last minute move out and only 1 family member in the area, they contacted close friends outside the area who were able to find two full time positions for both parents. One job will start immediately, the other job has orientation starting the 15th of January.  THE MAIN PROBLEM: With no income and no means to move, they are facing a SEVERE hardship. As of this Saturday, they will not have housing and forced to live in their car, with all 4 kids. All local resources have been contacted. The Family Resource Center, 211, the YMCA, and local charities. They are not able to get food assistance for 7-14 days (new WA rule as of DEC-2019) and only have access to a microwave, so much of the food from local food banks cannot be prepared. Their is no HUD or Section 8 housing that doesn't have wait list months (some years) long and all homeless churches and facilities are at max capacity due to the high homelessness in SW WA and Portland. The most they were offered was blankets and pillows to sleep in their car, in the parking lot. THEIR CURRENT NEED: They need to move to their new location so they can start new jobs next week. They need the basics: housing, food, toiletries, gas, a month of phone service (for new employment), a uhaul for a few hours, 1 month of storage in Battle Ground for belongings that are not needed immediately but important (washer, dryer, freezer, bunk beds), assistance with this months car payment and  an oil change to make the trip. We have the cost all broken down and the funds will be allocated exactly. WHERE I COME IN: They are overwhelmed and in a crisis situation. They are trying to reassure their children and keep them fed. I will be facilitating a lot of their expenses in order to make the move happen. For those of you who know me personally, I wouldn't do this for just anyone. These parents and their children are good people, with no substance abuse, who work hard, stay actively involved, go to school and have helped many around them over the last few years. They have jobs lined up and a viable option to provide for their kids. They are not lazy and sucking off the system. This one circumstance has put them in a horribly hard position and I wouldn't be reaching out to everyone if I didn't believe they would utilize these funds appropriately.  The most common misconception is that the money will be poorly managed. We have broken down their needs based on when their first paychecks will land. The housing cost and storage fees are still being negotiated. I will update this as soon as I get those details. They currently need $1775 to meet their basic needs/moving cost for the next 4 weeks. The $1775 does not include housing/storage cost. All we can do is estimate it at $1475, hence the total of $3250. The housing/storage cost may seem low, but until we get calls back in the next 2 days, we cannot give an exact number. With time running out, we decided to post and ask for help without knowing the final housing/storage fees. Please consider making a donation.
