Family of 14 off to Guatemala

We are so excited to share with you a life-changing mission we are embarking on beginning January 2019. Our family is moving to Guatemala to serve with Orphan Resources International for 3 years!
There are over 500,000 orphans in Guatemala. A child is abandoned every 4 days in Guatemala City. As a family we want to make a difference in the lives of some of these children. Orphan Resources International supports over 50 orphanages around Guatemala City, providing monthly food deliveries and 10-15 construction teams every year. Our position with ORI will be to host and facilitate the construction teams that come to serve these orphanages. With the unique gifting of each member of our family, we hope to offer a host of different services and assistance to the teams, the orphanages, and the organization.
As we prepare for this mission we are keenly aware of our need for God’s help and the help of his people. First of all we want to urgently ask for your prayer support. We know in this endeavor we are striking at the basic plan of the enemy to destroy families and children and we need your covering of prayer. Second, any financial support that you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Along with the fantastic team of workers our family brings, comes the additional expense for a family as large as ours to work and live safely in this volatile country. Initially we have a startup cash budget of $110,000 which needs to be met before we can depart. Additionally, our monthly support budget of $12,000 will need ongoing support throughout our 3 year commitment. Please know that although these numbers are large no gift is too small. Whether it is a one-time gift or a recurring monthly amount, we are deeply grateful for any amount you are able to give. Each prayer and each dollar is making a direct impact in the kingdom of God for these orphans that are so close to God’s Heart!
