Families fight for baby girl

Autum and Will welcomed their first child into the world in 2016 a beautiful healthy baby boy Jidah. In 2018 they were thrilled to become pregnant with their second child, a baby girl due in November this year.
Autum and Will live in country Victoria (Daylesford) and were accessing pre natal services regionally at The Ballarat Base hospital. But the pregnancy has been far from smooth sailing. Autum has suffered hemorrhaging from 4 weeks to 23 weeks which is unexplained. At 23+2 weeks, Autum was admitted to hospital for the unexplained bleeding. Two days later she was having a shower as she was being discharged when then her waters broke.
Ballarat Base Hospital cannot care for babies under 32 weeks so Autum was transferred to The Mercy Hospital in Melbourne where she is under threat for preterm labor and will spend the rest of her pregnancy on strict bed rest.
Being from rural Victoria, this has put extreme financial strain on the young, hard working family. Both Autum and Will hold jobs to be able to provide for themselves and their son, now Autum has had to stop working they are relying on one income. Will is eventually going to have to take unpaid leave from work to be able to care for his son and in the meantime try to increase childcare days which also comes at a hefty expense. The commute to Melbourne is roughly two hours for will and Jidah by car and the cost of petrol and parking at the hospital is taking an extreme toll on their bank accounts.
Will and Autum are both heavily involved in their community and are the most generous loving people. It is so hard watching the toll all of this is taking on them.
If we could try and eliminate the financial pressure I hope that Autum will be able to relax more and focus on trying to keep her baby girl safe inside her tummy as long as possible.
