Headed to Pennsylvania for Roth Residency in CW
Donation protected
Just before my final semester of undergrad, in 2015, I created a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for application fees for MFA programs. In 2018, during my second year of the MFA program at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, I was awarded a full scholarship to attend the 2018 Tin House Summer Workshop. That summer, I created a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for traveling to Portland, OR. Both times the community of writers and instructors I am proud to be a part of was so very generous and extraordinarily helpful.
Months ago, during my third and final year of the MFA program at LSU, I was awarded the Fall 2019 Philip Roth Residence in Creative Writing at Bucknell University. At the start of August, I will begin traveling the 1,255 miles to Lewisburg, PA from Baton Rouge, LA. I need help getting to Pennsylvania and anything—absolutely anything—you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Once there, I will continue the work I have started on a memoir centered on my childhood and my seventeen-year-old brother’s murder.
Thank you all so very much.
