A Small School With a Big Impact
John Knox Christian School is a K-8 school in the beautiful small rural town of Wyoming, Ontario Canada. We believe that each and every student is a gift from God. Our wonderful staff teach from a hands-on curriculum and are proud to watch each one blossom and grow through each semester. Our students can see how God works throughout our complete curriculum and have daily Bible lessons to grow them not only academically, but spiritually as well. We are blessed.
The Problem...
We know young kids need space. They’re active and they’re curious. Our youngest students (affectionately known as the “little people”) are eager to learn. The trouble is their classroom does not have the room for them or for all the great things they need to learn better!
This year our little learners are nearly sitting on each other in a small area while Mrs. Robinson reads. They try to set up their train sets or dollhouses in the play area while other kids dig out play tools and cars or pick books from the shelf stuck in the corner. Seating by storage and crashing chairs are the everyday as we try to avoid looking like a can of sardines!
The Solution...
A larger room for our Kinderstart students! They need a bigger room with space for them to work, play, explore, be together, and be alone.
We need to give them a bright room with plenty of space for learning centres, book displays, sand and water tables, stand-up tables, and student seating.
What’s the Plan?
We’re adding to our building! This gives us a chance to take a good part of our old gym and turn it into an amazing room for our Kinderstart kids. It will give the kids a bigger room with more space for what they need.
There’s more room for their tables and chairs so they can spread out. There will be two bathrooms, one for boys, one for girls. This new room would also have a separate coat room. The Kinderstart students will have their own door to the playground so they’ll no longer have to share with those big grade eight kids.
We need You!
We have started this online fundraiser to help raise funds for our new Kinderstart room. It's just one small part of our $2.1 million dollar renovation cost, but it's so close to our heart.
We want to offer the best to our young students. After all, this is where kids begin their learning journey. Help give our kids a great start!
