FairPlay4Kids.org is an organization dedicated to helping families with young children who have been banned from playing soccer (football) by FIFA , the world's football association.
FIFA has a regulation entitled ARTICLE 19 (download or view PDF here ). The FIFA article was enacted to help protect young children from being exploited for "footballing reasons".
We do not oppose the regulation as a whole. We agree with FIFA that mechanisms must be in place to protect children exploited by greedy, big sports corporations. FIFA states that an estimated 5000 children have been protected by Article 19.
On the other hand, we estimate that 150,000 children and families have innocently been affected by Article 19. This is due to FIFA's blanket language in Article 19.
WHO IS AFFECTED INNOCENTLY BY ARTICLE 19?
1. Families who relocate for work, extended vacations and retirement.
2. Children whose parents are deceased, political prisoners, divorced, involved in LGBT relationships and other circumstances and situations.
3. Children whose parents are unemployed. (As parents seeking a youth player license for their child they must be gainfully employed - Does this make sense?)
4. In some cases, parents who travel for work during the week to other countries. This includes government workers and contractors, doctors, engineers. It's not just "poor immigrant" children affected by Article 19.
5. The cases we assist are rare, but none to date none have involved any type of child trafficking for "footballing reasons".
WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO DO at FAIRPLAY4KIDS.ORG?
Our mission at FAIRPLAY4KIDS is to continue building awareness to the sadness that FIFA is bringing upon innocent children and their families by not allowing the children to play organized league soccer.
Our organization has been on this mission for 14 months. To date, FIFA has not replied to 100s of telephone calls, email messages and postal correspondence. FIFA has completely ignored our communication.
Building awareness will help to bring the message to the billions of soccer fans and players worldwide.
We believe that every child regardless of their parents economic status, employment status, martial status or legal status should be allowed to play organized league soccer.
We believe that FIFA has been "cold" to the pleas of 1000s of families who have tried to connect with them and obtain their child's player licenses.
We understand the world is MORE GLOBAL today than decades ago. Families move around the globe with children. These children should not be affected by FIFA rules as long as the children are not being exploited for "footballing reasons".
WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP TO DO...
1. Continue our online awareness strategy to build awareness. Our webpage requires updates and maintenance: www.FairPlay4kids.org
2. Create and execute outreach activities with affected clubs, families and the actual players.
3. Create an effective public relations campaign that delivers the message of the collateral damage that Article 19 has caused.
4. Sponsor "banned-player" sporting activities. Children want to play in competitive environments. We can help create those platforms with your help.
5. Continue to work with professional journalists and sports bloggers to help us spread the word. This takes time, money and energy. You can help us continue.
6. Grow the organization into an association that does more work inside the global youth soccer communities.
When your help is received...
With your pledge of support we will continue to work to reach those families that have children who are sidelined.
We will continue to discuss ways with local clubs to promote awareness to affected children. The current issue is that most local clubs are extremely busy running day to day activities and can't find time to help the affected families 100%. That where they will refer the cases to FairPlay4Kids.org.
We will continue to find ways to work with local and country federations. This requires lots of telephone calls, conferences and meetings. Convincing local federations to stand up against FIFA is not an easy task. We know that first hand.
We will continue to comunicate with FIFA in hopes of having the football association amend Article 19.
We will sponsor and produce soccer events for children affected by FIFA Article 19.
So far we have self-funded the organization
To date, we have self funded the organization. We have paid for postal stamps, telehone calls, print materials, promotional banners and all the other expenses related to running a strong and effective organization.
This is why we are asking for your help. And we need your help starting today. Give what you can. Every little bit helps. Most importantly sharing this campaign will help it grow to the level where we can increase the awareness and help more families stand up against FIFA. That's our mission and goal. This means so much to us...We were once a family that suffered watching our 8 year old child on the sidelines week after week. Our son, Marianno practiced with the team, but week after week, the local club would inform us that FIFA has not approved his player's license. We had no clue where to begin to challenge the rule. We were clueless and so was our local club. But more than clueless, the local club was busy with our issues like match scheduling, injuries, etc. We were basically on our own. At was at that time that we decided to dig deeper and find a solution to this mess. In about 7 weeks, we finally obtained our son's player license. It took lots of phone calls, emails and meetings with local government officials and political offices. But we did it. Now we want to help other families challenge this unfair, bais and discriminatory rule. That's our passion for continuing with FairPlay4Kids.org.

FairPlay4Kids.org es una organización dedicada a ayudar a las familias con niños pequeños que la FIFA, (Federación Internacional de Fútbol Asociado) les ha prohibido jugar fútbol.
La FIFA tiene una norma titulada ARTÍCULO 19 (descargar o ver PDF aquí). Dicho artículo fue promulgado para ayudar a proteger a los niños de ser explotados por "razones futbolísticas".
En FairPlay4Kids.org estamos de acuerdo con la FIFA, en que deben existir mecanismos para proteger a los niños explotados por las grandes corporaciones deportivas, codiciosas. La misma FIFA afirma que, alrededor de 5000 niños han sido protegidos por el artículo 19. Pero por otro lado, se estima que alrededor de 150.000 niños y sus familias se han visto afectadas inocentemente por este mismo artículo 19. Esto debido a la falta de un lenguaje específico en el que no se aclara las excepciones que existen en el caso de los niños que tienen que viajar a otros países por diferentes motivos. El ejemplo que usamos es: si tiras al mar una red de arrastre para atrapar tiburones (los traficantes), posiblemente arrastrarás más peces inocentes que se verán lastimados por un trato que no era para ellos, al final la presa, el objetivo se escapa.
¿QUIÉN SUFRE INOCENTEMENTE POR EL ARTÍCULO 19?
1. Familias que por cuestiones de traslado de trabajo, buscan una mejor calidad de vida, refugiados, por asilo político, vacaciones largas, jubilación, etc.
2. Los niños cuyos padres han fallecido, presos políticos, divorciados, involucrados en las relaciones LGBT y otras circunstancias o situaciones.
3. Los niños cuyos padres están desempleados. (Como si pusieres a jugar a tu niño de 9 años con una licencia o fichaje, y esto te generara ingresos.. esto tiene algún sentido?)
4. En algunos casos, los padres que viajan para trabajar durante la semana a otros países. Esto incluye los trabajadores de gobierno, contratados por periodos, médicos, ingenieros, diseñadores, etc. No solo los niños "pobres" se ven afectados por el artículo 19, también los de altos ingresos económicos. Esta norma no mide ”status”, raza, sexo, raíces, creencias, razones, política, nada!!!
5. Los casos que atendemos son raros, pero ninguno hasta la fecha se ha visto implicado en ningún tipo de tráfico por "razones futbolísticas”, ni ningún otro tipo.
¿QUÉ ESTAMOS TRATANDO DE HACER EN FAIRPLAY4KIDS.ORG?
Nuestra misión en FAIRPLAY4KIDS es seguir creando conciencia a la FIFA de la tristeza que está trayendo a niños inocentes y sus familias al no permitir que a los niños jueguen al fútbol de una Liga organizada.
Nuestra organización ha estado en esta misión durante 14 meses. Hasta la fecha, la FIFA no ha respondido a más de cientos de llamadas telefónicas, mensajes de correo electrónico ni correspondencia postal. La FIFA ha ignorado totalmente toda comunicación.
La construcción del conocimiento sobre este artículo, nos ayudará a llevar el mensaje a los miles de millones de aficionados y jugadores en todo el mundo.
Creemos que todos los niños independientemente de la situación familiar (económica, laboral, marcial o legal) deben poder jugar fútbol en una Liga organizada.
Creemos que la FIFA ha sido "fría" a las súplicas de miles de familias que han intentado conectar con ellos y obtener licencias de jugador para su hijo/a.
Entendemos que el mundo de hoy es MÁS GLOBAL que hace décadas. Familias se mueven alrededor del mundo con los niños. Estos niños no deben verse por las reglas de la FIFA como niños que están siendo explotados por "razones futbolísticas".
ESTAMOS PIDIENDO SU AYUDA PARA HACER...

2. Crear y ejecutar actividades de promoción con los clubes afectados, las familias y los jugadores reales.

6. Crecer la organización y llevarla a ser una asociación para que funcione como una Comunidad Mundial a favor de los niños y jóvenes que gustan practicar fútbol.

Vamos a seguir examinando las posibilidades con clubes locales para sensibilizar sobre los niños afectados. El problema actual es que más clubes locales están extremadamente ocupados ejecutando día a día con los que si pueden jugar y no encuentran tiempo para ayudar a las familias afectadas 100%. Que donde se remiten los casos a FairPlay4Kids.org.
Continuamos buscando maneras de trabajar con las federaciones locales y nacionales. Esto requiere un montón de llamadas telefónicas, conferencias y reuniones. Convencer a las federaciones locales para plantarse ante la FIFA no es una tarea fácil, lo sabemos de primera mano, es una lucha diaria.
Vamos a seguir tratando de comunicarnos con la FIFA, esperanzados en que esta asociación nos escuche y quiera enmendar, modificar, aclarar el artículo 19.
Patrocinaremos y produciremos eventos de fútbol para niños y niñas afectados por el artículo 19 de la FIFA.
