On Thursday, November 8, 2018, a devastating fire destroyed the town of Paradise, CA and forced the evacuation of over 27,000 people.
As I write this, nine are confirmed dead, and tens of thousands no longer have homes. As the fire raged, seven of our people had to grab what they could and flee for their lives. At one point, we had a gaggle of kids, a horse, three dogs, four cats, and a cockatoo at the facility trying to regain their bearings and deal with the tragedy they just experienced. The fact they all gathered at FAFCO speaks volumes about our team and what we call the FAFCO family.
While everyone survived, now starts the long and difficult task of rebuilding lives. All seven of our people lost everything and are starting over. We’ve started this FAFCO Family Relief Fund to raise money and help get everyone back on their feet.
This terrible fire is partly the result of the significant environmental changes that are occurring around the globe. At FAFCO, our mission is “to provide solutions to the world’s energy problems”. The entire FAFCO team are foot soldiers in the war to save the planet. We need every one of them back at work, leading productive lives, and fully engaged in what they are doing. That won’t happen until each of them is able to rebuild a normal family life outside of work.
