Are My History Videos Unsuitable?
Donation protected
Five months ago, my documentary short, "Reginald F. Lewis: America's First Black Billion Dollar Businessman", was identified as "not suitable for most advertisers".
Do you agree?
This video on America's first black car manufacturer was also flagged.
So was this piece on a black millionaire before the Civil War.
Here's a sample of people's reaction.
Despite being buried by YouTube, each of my top videos has thousands of views, but sadly it hasn't been enough, so last month my YouTube channel was demonetized.
I've had the same experience with Facebook, who inexplicably hid our posts from people who had actually liked our page and wanted to see our updates.
My business partner Frances and I finance these short documentaries with our own money and make them available for free at museums, online and on public television in hopes that it will lead to sales of our feature-length documentaries on DVD and streaming platforms.
We feel there is value in sharing these amazing true stories with the public, but unfortunately, we cannot continue to operate in this manner without additional revenue, which is why I am asking for help.
We need a minimum operating budget of $1500 a month to produce and promote these critically-acclaimed historical documentaries.
Are you willing to help us?
