Seth M. Diamond Memorial Fund
Seth Diamond is a man that deserves to live a long healthy life. Unfortunately Cancer is trying to take that away from him. He has been battling misdiagnosed for years and diagnosed for the past 10 months. He hasn't been able to catch a single break as Difused Large B Cell Lymphoma spreads through his body and tears at his soul. He keeps fighting. Fighting to stay with his amazing wife. Fighting to stay with his beautiful children. Fighting to stay with people like me that adore and worship him.
MD Anderson gave up on him. They sent him home saying he wasn't "healthy" enough for the trial drugs that show such promise in getting him to remission so he can have a stem cell transplant. We CAN get a new drug, it's FDA approved and his oncologist at Oschner has high hopes for it, but it's not approved for his particular Cancer. That being the case, insurance won't cover it. The cost is overwhelming at about $12,000 a month. It shows great results in 2 other forms of Lymphoma AND in stages 1 and 2 of his type of Lymphoma. Please help me get just one months worth, just enough to see if it will work. We've exhausted all resources, tried every Chemo, battled every side effect and cannot catch a break.
Please, help me. Whether you know him as Mr. Seth, Seth, Michael, Mike, Big Guy, Daddy Seth, Mr. Diamond, Boss, Friend or Mentor now is the time to return the kindness and generosity he has shown to so many. Help me save my hero because I cannot imagine a world without him. He is my Big Brother and I need him in this world.
It's been a while...Tuesday will mark a month since my brother passed away and it is still strange. It feels like everyone's world should have stopped as mine did...or at least paused. It is crazy to think the entire planet continues on it's journey as though nothing has changed when for me, for his family, everything has changed.
One thing that has not changed and will never change is my desire to keep his legacy alive. With your help I can do just that by funding the Seth Diamond Memorial Education Fund. You can look it up under Memorial funds right here on GoFundMe.
Every penny of your generosity and support will go to help young people willing to work hard, that want an education but cannot afford it without a little help for tuition, books, supplies. Seth was all about helping those who helped themselves. He gave from his heart with advice, tough love and support. He gave through his business in support of local youth groups and in the hiring of his own staff giving them the flexibility they needed to attend classes. He challenged his own children and gave the guidance they needed to get through High School and spread their wings for a successful future. He opened his wallet when a promising kid was in need. In every way, he was the great champion for the underdog, the kids that fell through the cracks, the one's who didn't believe they could do it. He guided them through knowledge, pressing the importance of education for their future, giving them confidence in themselves.
Please help me continue this legacy by supporting the fund his amazing wife Susan has set up in his name. It honors him, it helps us all to continue to guide youth through education. If we can make a difference in one kids life at a time, it is worth it. Thank you for helping me keep a part of him alive, for giving me something new to champion in his name. Please, your help in support of these promising futures is greatly appreciated. As the fund grows and we are able to help a young person in need I look forward to posting success stories made possible by all of you!
Thank you for all you do,
This losing a sibling thing is a whole new level of pain for me but I am comforted by all the outpouring of love for my amazing sister in law Susan and the kids. I cannot even imagine Susan's pain and I am humbled by her strength through out this entire tragedy. We made it through many months of illness and pain, the final hospital stay, the funeral and the celebration afterward together and now we are learning how to live in a world without our rock. As Susan puts it, trying to figure out just exactly what normal looks like now.
I just wanted to take another opportunity to thank everyone for being so supportive and generous through out this trying time. Soon I will post a link to the Seth Diamond Education Fund that has been set up in order to continue his legacy of helping young people navigate their way onto the right path. I'm technologically challenged so it could take me a while to figure out how to attach a link. In the meantime, you can find it at DiamondScholarship here on gofundme if you would like to contribute to the future of the next generation.
One day at a time. I am just trying to make it through one single day without tears, that is my goal. It's not today...maybe tomorrow. If Seth touched your heart you are a lucky person, please carry that luck on and pay it forward. Love someone, help someone, go out of your way for someone. In all these gestures, his legacy lives on. Thank you for your love and for the respect given to him in life and in death, I appreciate you all.

I also want to let people know of a benefit for The Diamond Family on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 1pm at the Third Base Bar and Grill in Bay St. Louis. There will be a Spaghetti plate for $10 and more opportunities to donate. All donations to go directly to the family.
Both the services on Saturday and the Benefit on Sunday are open to all. It will be a time of celebration, healing, love and laughter. Fun, wonderful Seth stories all around! My hope is that we will all have a chance to connect and to celebrate my amazing brother, to show our love, undoubtably to cry, to laugh and to remember the man that can bring so many people together.
Please share this post as you all have so generously done from the start and we can send Seth off in style. He would not want us to be sad. He would not want us to carry the burden of our pain alone. Thank you all for your generosity and love. Susan and the kids can use all the help emotionally, spiritually and financially that we can rally.
Today I went with Susan and watched her make the hardest decisions of her life to put her husband and best friend to rest with dignity and grace. She is amazing, always has been, her strength matches his. I will post the final Memorial arrangements as they are made firm, probably tomorrow or Friday, by then it will all be set and clear to share.
In the mean time...thank you ALL for your continued support and love to help carry Susan and the kids through this terrible time. In a perfect world, no wife or child would ever have to struggle through this process. Unfortunately, it is not a perfect world. I know with your help we can make arrangements to send Seth off with peace in his heart knowing that Momma and the Kids will be okay for a while as they regain their footing and learn to live a life without Seth. Truly a life they never imagined. Seth was the consummate family man and served his family first at all times. Thank you for helping me to allow them a short grace period with a little less stress to ease into this new reality.
All of the support, kindness, generosity and love are truly inspirational and help me keep my faith in humanity at a time when I feel so lost. You are ALL very much appreciated.
Seth was an incredible man and mentor, he has forever changed me in a positive way. May your family find comfort knowing the enormous impact he has on the lives of the people that were lucky to have him cross their path. May you rest in peace.
I am so beyond over joyed to see that you have reached the goal!!! Lots of happy tears!!!! I am praying for you always and will still donate to such an amazing man and his family!!!
That was fast. Awesome! So happy to see that y'all got the funding that you need. I hope that this experimental medicine is the answer that y'all need.
The power of togetherness and love is truly amazing! When I saw this balance, I got emotional. Although Seth isn't my blood family, I truly consider him as such. Congratulations Seth! Your next step in your journey is well underway! Much much love, Sarah.
