Youngs' Adoption Fund

Donation protected
We are the Youngs: Will, Lauren, and Matthias.  We feel like God is calling us to adopt a baby!  Here's our story about how God led us to this decision:

In May 2015, I gave birth to our beautiful daughter Hope, but unfortunately, she had passed away while in the womb.  When we found out her heart had stopped, our joyful expectation gave way to heartbreaking grief.  As we walked the path of grief over the next few months, my broken mama heart desperately wanted a baby to love and hold.

In October, we excitedly found out that I was expecting again!  I was very anxious and worried, but I thought that surely God would make sure this baby would survive.  However, in November, right before Thanksgiving, I found out that this baby had also passed away.  I named the baby Jonah.

The next few weeks were awful.  I was very angry at God, but He graciously began to heal my heart.  He showed me His love for me and for my children.  And He also showed me that there were children in the world who needed someone to love them.

This was the point where I first began to research adoption.  God began laying it heavily on my heart.  It was all I could think about.  I would watch videos of people meeting their adopted children and just cry tears of joy.  I would search the Bible for passages about adoption and caring for the fatherless (there are quite a few!).  I read articles about the beauty and pain of adoption.  I didn't understand what God was doing, but I knew I couldn't ignore it.

A few days later, we were unexpectedly asked to consider adopting a child from Mexico.  This explained why God had been laying adoption on my heart so heavily!  That situation did not end up happening because the mother decided to keep her baby (which is wonderful), but God used those few weeks of prayer and excitement to cement the desire to adopt in our hearts.  So I began to research what kind of adoption we should pursue.

After many hours of research and phone calls and prayer, Will and I decided to pursue domestic infant adoption.  This means that we will be getting a baby from the United States age newborn to one year old.  Will and I are open to a child of any race and any gender.  We just want to provide a home to a baby who needs love, stability, and care.  Our adoption will most likely be an open adoption, which means that we will meet and have a relationship with the birthmother (and possibly birthfather).  We may even get to be present when the baby is born!

We found a wonderful adoption professional who will be helping us along our journey.  Right now, we are in the midst of completing our home study (approval to adopt by the state) and as soon as it is complete, we will be ready to find our baby!

The total cost of domestic adoption is around $30,000 (this covers your home study, legal fees, agency fees, travel to get the baby, birth mother expenses, etc.).  We are seeking to raise $18,000.  We are also applying to many adoption grants.  The sooner we raise the funds, the sooner we can continue on in the process to find our baby!  Anything raised beyond our goal will be put into a college fund for our future child.

Thank you for reading our story, and to all who contribute, we are eternally grateful.  This fund will allow us to find our child and bring him or her home.  We truly appreciate your monetary help and can't wait to share our adoption journey with you!  God bless!
