A few days ago we took in this sweet boy, Peanut, who was abused very badly. In addition to his arm being broken, additional xrays also revealed a preexisting break on the same arm that is almost completely healed already, as well as multiple rib fractures that occurred on separate occasions over the past 7-14 days. Needless to say, this little guy is pretty beat up. He'll be needing a surgery that will put a rod through his shoulder to fix the fracture, plus the exam, xrays, an antibiotic for a respiratory infection, shots, and pain medication, which will all add up to about $1,700. We'll also be needing to get him fixed, as well as our two girls we already have. Although this was unexpected, we needed to do everything we could to get Peanut away from the abuse and into a loving home where he can get the medical attention he needs and the safety he deserves.
