Hurricane Harvey Flooded Our Home

My name is Michelle Leeson and I currently reside in Sarasota, Florida. I am trying to raise money to replace what we have loss. Unfortunatley, when you flood due to a storm, your homeowners does not come into play. If it did, we would be fine.
As an update, our area is expected to feel the full impact of hurricane Irma. We are currently staying at the Holiday Inn Airport. We were blessed by a church group who stepped up and paid for the first week of our stay. What a blessing. These were strangers who stepped up and volunteered in our neighborhood to help with getting damaged items out of our homes. I cannot think the name of the church, but once I do I will update you with that information.

On August 26th, we began to feel the effects of hurricane Harvey in our own back yard. Even though we were well over 1,000 miles from Houston, we experienced about twenty-three inches of rain which resulted in catastrophic flooding for our entire neighborhood. On August 27th, we were evacuated from our home of over 20 years as the flooding became too severe. With about two feet of water flooding through our entire home, we we were not able to salvage much. Nearly everything in our home was completely destroyed. And to make matters worse, we did have structure insurance, but we did not have insurance to cover the contents of the house or to help with temporary housing until the repairs have been made.
As of right now, we are expecting the repairs to take a minimum of 6-8 weeks and our house is completely unlivable until the repairs are made. The time they quoted was before we received news of hurricane Irma, so the wait could be much longer if this storm hits as well. Almost everything we've ever owned was destroyed during the flooding, but in comparison with the other victims of Harvey, we know we are extremely blessed, as we are alive and have the support of our very loving family and friends. This time has been very hard on TL and myself, but we are doing our very best to stay positive through it all.
We have never made a GoFundMe page before, but we also never thought we would be faced with such heartache and despair. We are not asking for much, but if you are able to make even the smallest donation, it will go very far in helping us to get through this extremely tough time, as we now need to find somewhere to live for a minimum of 6-8 weeks, and with only one source of income, I just don't know how we will make it work without help. So if there is anything you can do to help our situation, it would mean more than we could ever express. Thank you for you support through these hard times.
