Help Puerto Rican Hurricane Victims

Donation protected
The Community class at Gardner-Webb is raising money for Cesar' and Maria Acosta who live in Puerto Rico and were hit hard by Hurricane Irma.  They are the grandparents of Marcesa Harper, an alum of the school.

Initially the couple had to relocate with their dog, Chippy, but are now back in their house in their little village of Fajardo, which has no electricity, running water, and very little food.  They also have health concerns.

“They are having to get ice every single day to keep food cold, which is getting costly, washing all their clothes by hand, and trying to fix their generator that broke after the first hurricane,” Marcesa said. César and Maria had solar panels, but they were blown away by the hurricane, and they haven’t been able to find them.

We all hope that if we were in a time of need, that someone would help us. César and Maria need a generator and a solar panel or two. They live on a very fixed income, but live a frugal lifestyle, and would appreciate any financial support they can get. Please help support these fellow Americans as they try to recover from this deadly tragedy in Puerto Rico.
