Miracle on 34th Street

Garden Oaks Adult Activity Center, GOAAC for short, was founded May 2, 1994 by Garden Oaks resident Victoria Davis. Victoria is a native Houstonian who graduated Jefferson Davis High School in 1973, Houston Community College Nursing School in 1983 and the University of Houston in 1985. GO COOGS!
After years in the corporate workforce and going through an unexpected lay off- Victoria took her severance and started something special- her own little Miracle on 34th St. The idea to start GOAAC began with a passion for service and of a facility where those with both mental and physical disabilities could
come to feel welcomed, remain social
and active, all while having some fun doing it. Her ability to remain adaptable and resourceful throughout the years, all while keeping her business’ integrity, is the reason why GOAAC remains able to serve and help our clients and their communities. Victoria is often asked if she is tired of doing the same thing for 20+ years and her answer is an emphatic "NO!" She says there is never a dull moment here at Garden Oaks."
After 28 fun-filled, life changing, impactful years residing in the Garden Oaks/Oak Forest community, the time has come
for us to find our forever home. Any donations will be used to help aid and advance our efforts in finding a new facility and any costs associated with moving over 25+ years of memories. We are so thankful for the continuing support in our mission in improving the quality of your life.
