Guatemala Study Abroad

Hi! My name is Lilly, and I am currently a student at Bethel University. My major is Psychology, and I am minoring in Spanish. I am raising money for a trip I am taking to Guatemala, starting Jan 30th, until May 22nd.  I am raising $5,000 because most of my trip is covered with scholarships, grants, and my own money, but I still need financial support to fully pay off this amazing opportunity of learning a language and integrating my faith.  The trip includes, a home stay with a family in Guatemala, plane expenses, food, and excursions. I will need to have the trip paid in full by January 10th.   I know some people have been hesitant incase I did not end up going, but I am for sure going! Any donation counts :)

The point of this study abroad trip is to immerse myself in Antigua, Guatemala, and take classes to complete my Spanish minor. Although this is not a missions trip, we do have an internship, where I will be doing either social work or special education. The reason that I want to go on this trip is to really work on my fluency in Spanish and be able to help God's people from a different part of the world. Long term, I would use Spanish in either a social work setting, or connecting and making community.
