New York City Marathon
Tax deductible
I’m participating in the New York City Marathon with Fred’s Team on November 4th to support cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
In 1995, Fred’s Team was named in honor of running legend and co-founder of the New York City Marathon—Fred Lebow, a man who dreamed of a world without cancer. In 1991, while he was being treated for brain cancer at MSK, he jogged through hospital hallways, determined to find a way to raise money for a cure. That year, Fred encouraged runners competing in the New York City Marathon to raise money for each mile they ran, and designated MSK its first official charity.
Fred’s Team runners raise critical funds for cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Donations give doctors and researchers at MSK the funding they need to make groundbreaking discoveries and conduct lifesaving clinical trials. As one of the top cancer hospitals in the nation, the research conducted at MSK makes a difference in the lives of countless people touched by cancer worldwide.
Fred’s Team runners support 50 areas of cancer research, many of them rare, including: bladder, brain, breast, colon, colorectal, head and neck, kidney, liver, lung cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, melanoma, multiple myeloma, neuroblastoma, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, and testicular.
I’m trying to raise as much as I can for this important cause, and would appreciate your support. The race is on November 4th, so all donations will need to be made before that date. Thanks so much for your support!
