Kidney failure medical expenses

Bradley. So for those of you who don't know, I'd like to share the story of my partner and his illness. Brad is 37 and is an amazing,outgoing, enthusiastic, loving person. Back in November 2016, Brad was let go from his job without cause. 10+ years of dedicated work, hours and hours of unpaid overtime with very little appreciation in return. With this job loss came depression. The uncertainty of wether or not we would be able to keep up with all of our monthly expenses, our house costs just added to our stress.  Through the next few months Brad went on interview after interview after interview with the outcomes always being "your too qualified". With all this on the go, his health began to deteriorate, he was sleeping more often, rarely going out and barely eating. He became very weak, he was struggling to walk up a set of stairs even with the railing to use as leverage. It was the end of February 2017, his doctor finally order blood work to try and find out what is going on. Weeks went by with no response from the doctor, with this we assumed that his results came back normal. Unfortunately, on April 24th, we received a phone call from Brad's mother, with terroir in her voice so said " where is Brad?  U need to take him to the emergency right now! His kidneys have failed!" It was three long days in emergency, test after test, and large amounts of blood work. On day three he was rushed into emergency surgery, to have a catheter inserted in the main artery into his heart. Within the hour he was being hooked up to a dialysis machine. Brad's kidneys had been failing for sometime now, and we were shocked to find out that between both his kidneys he was at 2% function. We were told that he needs a kidney transplant, and until he receives one he will be on dialysis 3 times a week for 3 1/2 hours a day. Between the trips to the hospital, the added appointments with specialists, and doctors, and his overall health, brad is unable to work. To add to this brad no longer has any medical benefits as they ran out the end of march, which means we couldn't claim disability. We went through an assigned social worker with the kidney foundation, and applied for CPP disability. Brad was finally approved in August, but unfortunately due to his job pay out in January and february he had made the maximum income for the year and so CPP is not longer approved.our life has completely flipped upside down. With our expenses growing and the stresses of meeting our day to day obligations, brad has been forced to find a part time job so we can at least pay our bills. We are still working on getting brad on the donor list almost a year later. It turns out that kidney failure is an expensive illness. Brad is now required to take a slew of medications and so our medical expenses have increased quite a bit. Not to mention the recovery time when he receives a new kidney that will put Brad out of work for up to potentially six months. Your money will be going to medical expenses and keeping our bills paid during the time Brad will be out of commission from the transplant. We don't know when Brad will recieve his transplant so any funds you donate will be saved for when we need them for those bills. I cannot  express how much this means to us.
