This GoFundMe campaign is to solicit donations to pay performer fees for the 'ZOLAS Live Jazz Saturday Nights ONLINE!' live stream performance series. The Cdn$5000 goal will fund this series for four months. There have been seven ZOLAS live stream performances so far - Lucas Haneman and Megan Laurence on May 9th, Laura Anglade on May 16th, Roddy Ellias on May 23rd, Elise Letourneau and Tim Bedner on May 30th, Mark Ferguson on June 6th, Diane Nalini and Adrian Cho on June 13th, Sean Duhaime and Suzie Q on June 20th, Spencer Scharf on June 27th, and Kate Wyatt and Adrian Vedady on July 4th . Upcoming ZOLAS live stream jazz performances are David Renaud on July 11th.
The series is a great success:
- A number of Ottawa’s top jazz musicians who have seen a major source of their income – live performances – disappear overnight have benefited from having been paid a fixed fee for their ZOLAS live stream performances.
- Ottawa’s jazz community has benefited from being able to see their favourite local jazz musicians perform, since the return of live performances is not in the foreseeable future.
A donation can be any amount and, if they wish, donors will be recognized as a group in a Facebook post on ZOLAS Facebook page. Sponsors must donate a minimum of $100 and will be recognized in all promotion for the live stream performance that they are sponsoring. If you wish to be a sponsor, after you make your payment, please provide a comment indicating to me which live stream (name and date) you'd like to sponsor. I've been booking the performers for 'ZOLAS Live Jazz Saturday Nights' program since the beginning of 2018 and am organizing the live stream series for ZOLAS.
