Zoey's just lost her mother and needs our help

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kathryn Melissa Byer on October 19, 2021 at 33 years old. She died at Abbotsford Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her sisters and father and knew love from many friends and family.

Kathryn was an amazing woman whose one big goal in life was to be a mother. She always loved kids and devoted her personal and professional life to them. She went onto to receive a degree in early education and business to prepare her to help raise and give a foundation to children. She was a supervisor at Creative Kids Daycare, with over 200 children. Each child was given love, strength and purpose from Kathryn's programs and directions.

Diagnosed in January 2020 with stage 3B cancer she began aggressively fighting. Sadly Christmas eve 2020 she was again diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Even throughout chemo and radiation she kept a loving positive outlook. Although her cancer journey was difficult and at times painful, she recognized the blessing of spending more time with Zoey and continued to fight for every moment with her daughter.

Her dying wish was that Zoey have the love and guidance and support needed to launch into adulthood. Kathryn wanted desperately to provide for solid future for Zoey. Unfortunately she only had 6 short years with Zoey and cannot leave her with all the financial resources she would have liked to to carry her through the next decades into adulthood. Although Zoey has a loving and involved father, she will miss out on the love and support of her mother.

Any money raised by the go fund me will be safeguarded and added to the small trust fund Kathryn's was able to leave her daughter to be administered by her executor. These funds will be used as needed during her childhood and then given to Zoey as an adult to launch her life as per Kathryn's wishes.

We are planning for a celebration of life on November 13th from noon to 5pm at her home (message us directly for her address).
