Zoe's Medical Fund and Savings

Donation protected
Zoe is an amazing 5-year-old little girl that was born with an extremely rare genetic mutation. Her mutation causes intractable epilepsy, which means she has multiple seizures every day that are not helped with any medication. She also has extreme developmental delay - in short, Zoe depends on others to do everything for her, she can't even hold her head up on her own. But despite not being able to control her own body, this little girl is a firecracker! She is so full of life and sass and fire!

We try to give Zoe the best life we possibly can, but sadly that comes at a cost. All her medicines, therapy, doctor visits, diapers, feeding supplies and specialty formula adds up to quite a bit. We try to stay on top of things, but it's getting harder and harder to do. Doctor visits end up going on credit cards and being paid off a bit at a time; x-ray, testing, and hospital bills get put to the side until there's a bit extra in the budget. Zoe is an amazing kid that I wouldn't trade for the world, but unfortunately life with her needs has wiped out our savings. The government says that since my husband and I are both responsible and hard working adults, Zoe doesn't qualify for any kind of medical or disability financial aid. So we are barely keeping afloat these days. When something unexpected happens (like our van decides to just stop working!), finding the extra funds to cover that is getting a bit tricky.

Zoe has two fantastic older brothers that many times end up being deprived of things because we had too many bills to pay that month - and they are really good about it, but as a parent, sometimes you just want more for your kids than sitting on the sidelines missing out! We want more for all three kids! We want them to have a lifetime of adventures and memories and love.

We'd like to raise some money to not only pay off the bills that are sitting on the sidelines right now, but to also get a bit into savings for the day when we need to start looking at wheelchair vans, or possibly put a rail system in the house to help Zoe get around easier.
