Mission Trip To Jamaica

Hi, my name is Amir Orezzoli and I am raising 1350 dollars for my mission trip to Jamaica. You might be wondering what my team and I will be doing on this nine day mission. I am glad to share the news with you, but first let me tell you a about me and how I came to know Christ. All my life I have had the privilege to have a step-dad involved in my life when my dad was overseas fighting for our country. My step-dad taught me how to be a great young man and no matter how much someone has betrayed you or hurt you at the end of the day you need to still love them. God's greatest command was love. However, growing up I saw my step dad  struggle with drug addiction. This took a toll in my life. I had to learn how to take care of myself at a young age. By the time I was ten, I learned how to do pretty much everything on my own. Once my dad was finally home I asked to move in with him. At the time I was thirteen years old. This was a fresh start for me; I got to be a kid for once, however, a few months after I moved in with my dad my stepdad passed away. This broke my heart; I started to do drugs and stop caring about sports and school. I even got kicked out of school a few times and this broke my dad’s heart. Nevertheless, after three years of living with my father, I moved back with my mom and it was even worse. So she got me involved with a local church and I hated it at first but a year and half after getting a mentor, I came to know Christ and who he really was. I gave my life to Christ at seventeen and ever since I have wanted to be different. Once I heard about this Jamaica trip last year, and knew what they were doing, I then knew God wanted me to go. This trip is more than a life changer, it shows you even when you feel like giving up and cant do it anymore always keep fighting. The team I go with are people who are always trying to be more like God. They put others first it amazes me. Last year we got to paint a school and share the word of God with over a hundred kids and this year I can't wait to reach more. I am so glad I get to be apart of something so special and can't wait to see what god does this year with the kids we are working with.
