Musician seeks help to repair van transmission in desperate times due to COVID-19

Prior to 2020, I was a successful, hard-working musician playing 200+ shows a year. In 2020, due to Covid, that number has been lowered to less than 40 shows in the year, most of which the salaries were excessively lower than the previous years. So out of necessity, I got a job driving for Uber.

Things were going well in the beginning. It got me out of the house, got me to see some people, made me feel useful, and most of all, it brought in a little dough. Then, within the span of 2 weeks, I had engine trouble (which I repaired for a total of 3000$)... and now I have transmission problems. Which is why I'm here. The garage told me that it would be another 3500$ to repair the transmission... money that I don't have.

I was barely making ends meet when I got my job, given that COVID has put me in a difficult position financially and obligating me to use up whatever little money that I had saved up, loading my credit cards and borrowing money from friends and family just to be able to pay the bills.

Now with this added transmission repair on top of all of my usual financial obligations, I am at my wit's end. I have looked for new jobs, applying to about a dozen jobs a day for the past few weeks, but the phone just isn't ringing. And now I need help, which is why I'm here.
