Zion's Homegoing

Zion was a happy twin boy. He has been sick since birth. He was diagnosed with necrotizing entercolitis. This burned out his intestines. Major surgery was done to remove majority of his intestines. His second year of life , Zion caught a rare pneumonia that plagued him every winter until 2020 winter when the cdc approved him for a specific vaccine for that strain. He has had 2 major brain surgeries to combat meningitis. Dec 2019 was the first and March 2020 was the second The last meningitis burnt out a lot of his brain cells. Zion was no longer able to be mobile. His lungs were weakened from being on a breathing machine for 3mths due to the brain damage. Zion had to learn how to breath on his own again. With talks of a tracheotomy in the works, Zion pulled through. He was breathing on his own. After being in the hospital from march 2020 to Sept 2020, Zion finally came home. He caught the pneumonia again in Oct 2020 and was hospitalized until Mid November 2020. Zion was home for Christmas for the first time since birth Dec 2020 and his first New Year's since birth Jan 2020. Jan 10 Zion passed away from complications of his brain damage.
