Zimbabwe Service Trip

Donation protected
HEY EVERYBODY,

This summer I have an amazing opportunity to go to Zimbabwe with a group from my home church (Valley Church) on a service trip to help serve African children. While my church has offered this trip many times until now they went during the school year so I was not able to go. But now that they have changed the timing to summer, I finally have the opportunity to go and serve in Zimbabwe. I am really excited to be able to serve the African people partnering with my pastor’s organization Hands of Hope (Go to https://hohafrica.org/ for more information).

Hands of Hope is an organization that originally was started in the Bay Area of California. Knowing that they could only do so much since they were thousands of miles away in a different country, they intentionally sought out partnerships with local churches in Zimbabwe to empower and collaborate with them to care for orphan children. We are going on a short-term trip to help the local churches build and sustain the care for these children through transformation centers and camps. We’ll be doing whatever we can to help Hands of Hope in their mission. This includes meeting the physical, spiritual needs of the children there. We will run a Christian camp for low-income kids and orphans who wouldn’t otherwise ever get to go to a camp. We will be there not only to love on the kids and create a fun atmosphere but to make sure they hear about Jesus Christ.

The dates for this trip are from July 24 through August 9, 2019. We will be going as a group of 15 people who are all very passionate about going to Zimbabwe. God tells us to reach out to all nations to spread the word and I am honored to be able to continue that calling by going to Zimbabwe. I am looking forward to the new experiences and opportunities I will get while I am there serving these children. I am excited to see a new perspective and image of God as I go somewhere with a new culture and way of living. I am ready to grow and be pushed out of my comfort zone.

The trip cost is $3,000 and so I am raising support. Prayer is also greatly needed as I am going into a different country and will be working with children with hard lifestyles. One of our prayer requests is for safe travels since we will be going out of the country. Another prayer request is that we can share God's love with the kids at the camps we are running, even with language barriers.

If you would like to support me financially, you can use this website to send me money, but if you want a tax-deductible receipt there is more information below.  I would also be encouraged to know if you are willing to pray for me. I will keep you posted on the progress and current prayer needs. All donations are due by July 24th.

THANKS,

Jennifer Howe
