ZIGGY THE “SOS” VIZSLA HAS BEEN RESCUED AND NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!
Thanks to the efforts of Santa Barbara Vizsla Lovers Rescue, and all of you for spreading the word, Ziggy the beautiful and sweet natured 3 year old Vizsla with epilepsy has been taken into Rescue just today! Ziggy's epilepsy had been well controlled when monitored by a vet but ((due to financial reasons)) medication was reduced without vet guidance and crucial blood tests were not performed so poor Ziggy again suffered tragic cluster “grand mal” seizures His owners ((overwhelmed)) placed him on Craigslist.
Ziggy’s vet has ordered 1) a neurologic workup including proper blood work and MRI and, depending on this, 2) a possible spinal tap, and of course 3) properly dosed and administered medication. Pending the results, we have a number of wonderful folks who have offered to foster-to-adopt Ziggy (awaiting)but all want clarity on his diagnosis and prognosis. I am Christine and a BOD of Santa Barbara Vizsla Lovers Rescue, we are reaching out to all of you to help Ziggy as our rescue has limited funds to get the diagnosis and medical care he needs before being placed in a loving home with a bright future. Estimated Costs at Tustin Neurological Veterinary Services are as follows: initial workup ($140.), blood work ($177.), MRI ($1800.) and potential Spinal Tap ($3500). Medication for length of foster care estimated at $50 per month. All donations made are directly deposited into SBVLR 's bank account from which his medical bills will be paid. We are a 501(c)3, please let us know if you would like a donation receipt for tax purposes.
