Ziggy’s Medical Bills

On Thursday October 22, 2020, our sweet Ziggy was hit by a car and dragged 5 houses down. The woman who hit him, eventually stopped, backed up and then sped off without even checking to see if he was okay. We drove him to Evansville to the Emergency Clinic there where he was treated. His injuries were severe. He had a collapsed lung with fluid and blood in both from the hemorrhaging. Unable to stand because he has a fractured hip which will make him immobilized for about 10 weeks and will have to learn how to walk again. Lacerations with muscle visible on his head. Large abrasion with dark thickened hard skin over right shoulder region that will become an open wound and muffled heart sounds on the left side. He was put on oxygen to help him breathe overnight. Fluids were also given to him. They got most of the fluid out of his lungs, and his breathing better. We brought him to a vet clinic here in Madisonville where they monitored him closely and made sure everything was still okay. It took $1,500 right there to save his life. If he is to have surgery on his hip, it’ll be another $3,000-$4,000. 

Our Family is asking for donations for all medical bills and future medical bills if he’s needed to have surgery on his hip. His birthday was yesterday October 23, 2020 and he turned a year old. He’s our child and it’s so unimaginable that this has happened. It’s going to be a long recovery but we hope we can get him back in his feet and back to normal soon!

We are also going to petition at the speed limit be dropped in our neighborhood where people fly down this road.
