Ziebro Ends Endo

Donation protected
After many years of dealing with paralyzing pain that I previously thought was "normal," I was officially diagnosed with Endometriosis in July by Dr. Gehred D. Wetzel of Tunkhannock, PA.

I wasn't shocked. I was relieved - Dr. Wetzel looked at me and asked, "This is ruining your life, isn't it?" My response: "YES! Thank you! I can barely function some days, and up until this point all these other doctors have been playing hot potato with my uterus and I'm figuratively and LITERALLY sick of it."

My symptoms and flare ups have been reoccurring more often and more aggressively over the past few years, often leaving me completely bed ridden, and at the time I'm still believing this is normal and I must be a big wuss with a low pain tolerance. WRONG.

Endometriosis is an autoimmune disease that 1 in 10 women suffers with, and on average it can go 7-10 years undiagnosed or commonly misdiagnosed.

Dr. Wetzel discussed the different treatment options with me and upon my own research I decided to opt out of all of them. A lot of these medicines have terrible side effects and are only temporary treatments to help manage the pain. After all, endometriosis is an autoimmune disease and never truly goes away.

Your body is kicking its own ass and these possible side effects can do more harm to your body than necessary and lead to other potentially bigger problems down the road.

Endometriosis has roots. Ablation surgery does not get the disease at the root. More than likely the endo is going to grow back. You might have a few good weeks, months, or years but it will return.

The golden standard for treating endometriosis successfully is excision surgery. With the support of Dr. Wetzel I had the opportunity to meet with the doctor I have been reading, watching and researching over the past few months.  Dr. Tamer Seckin and team will be the only surgeons I will allow to cut me open again.  End of story.

Meet the surgeons. The cream of the crop. ⚔️

Dr. Karli Goldenstein

I had every intention of starting a campaign to raise money and awareness for The Endometriosis Foundation of America and The Rose Study after my surgery was completed and I was in tip
top shape again.

This is an incredibly personal manner and although I am in no way embrassed by it, I would have liked to keep it as private as possible until I was fully recovered and feeling better mentally, spirituality and physically.

My tentative surgery date is scheduled for September 21st pending financing. Unfortunately the bank turned down my personal loan on Friday. I am truly grateful for the health insurance I receive through my employer, TruGreen. However, my out of network expenses exceeds 10G and I need to have the money upfront prior to my surgery date. The surgery will take place at the Lenox Hill  Hospital in New York City. I need additional pre-surgical screenings completed the same week as my surgery, also at the Lenox Hill Hospital.  On top of medical and travel expenses I will be out of work for at the very least 2 weeks - possibly longer. I don't have the money and it's as simple as that. Please know that it is not easy for me to ask for help. I've remained independent most of my life and have recently just began to get back on my feet again financially. I'm very proud of that and grateful for all who have helped me along the way.  Lord knows I have muscled through (successfully) some pretty heavy burdens and bullshit over the last few years.

Once the goal has been met, any additonal donations will be directly donated to The Endometriosis Foundation of America, a foundation that was started by Dr. Tamer Seckin and Padma Lakshmi.

I cannot not thank you enough ahead of time for all of your help. #ZiebroEndsEndo
