Diabetes Insulin Pump

Hi family and friends,

As many of you know I have type 1 diabetes, a side effect from the chemo I received in the past. I have started this gofund me in hopes to raise enough money to purchase an insulin pump. This insulin pump is not covered by insurance and I do not qualify for any programs and this device would drastically improve my quality of life as my diabetes is very hard to manage at this time. I only have one kidney and trying hard to make sure it stays healthy but it’s been a challenge to keep my levels in the normal range. I suffer from hyperglycemia so my sugars are always in the low 20s. My health issues have prevented me from being able to work more than I am now and I was unable to save up for this . This pump would automatically administer insulin to me when my body needs it and start regulating my levels. It would be life changing for me.

The cost of the pump is an astonishing 7000.00(I know, crazy!) and supplies can go up to 3000.00 a year. My goal with this fundraiser is to raise enough to get me started as the supplies will be sustainable after the first year. My team at CHEO is ready to help me get started before I am discharged in October and off to the adult world.

Any help would be appreciated!! If I don’t raise enough in time, every donation will be returned to the donors.
