Wir produzieren nach Schätzungen 5,6 Millionen Tonnen Müll jährlich. Davon sind bis zu 80% Einwegverpackungen. Die UN wertet Müll mittlerweile als eines der großen Zukunftsprobleme der Menschheit.
Besonders viel Schaden richtet Plastik dabei in den Meeren an. In den größeren Stücken können sich Tiere verfangen und darin verenden, andere fressen den Plastikmüll und verhungern mit vollem Magen. Möglicherweise über 50 Billionen Plastikteile schwimmen in unseren Meeren.
Mit der Zeit wird Plastik von Gezeiten und UV-Strahlung zu Mikroplastik zerrieben, das die Umwelt ebenso belastet und auf uns als Verbraucher zurückfällt: Fische fressen die Partikel, an denen sich häufig Giftstoffe anlagern. Im schlimmsten Fall landen sie auf unseren Tellern: In vielen Speisefischen hat Greenpeace bereits Plastik gefunden.
Wieviel Plastik tatsächlich in den Meeren schwimmt, lässt sich lediglich abschätzen. 150 Millionen Tonnen werden insgesamt in den Ozeanen vermutet, jährlich kommen vier bis zwölf Millionen Tonnen dazu. In riesigen Müllstrudeln wie dem Great Pacific Garbage Patch zirkuliert der Abfall in den Meeren. Experten gehen davon aus, dass 60 bis 80 Prozent des gesamten Mülls im Meer aus Kunststoff bestehen. Wenn wir so weiter machen wie bisher, sind in ca 20 Jahren mehr Plastikteile als Fisch in den Meeren!
Um dem entgegenzuwirken müssen wir unseren Plastikkonsum reduzieren. Einwegverpackungen müssen vermieden werden. Das ist im Alltag allerdings gar nicht so einfach, weil viele Produkte fast nicht mehr ohne Verpackung zu finden sind. Um es dem Verbraucher zu erleichtern, Lebensmittel und Haushaltswaren ohne unnötige Verpackungen zu finden, wird dringend eine Sammelstelle benötigt, die diese Informationen effektiv verbreiten kann
zerooo.org soll diese Lücke füllen. Es ist eine Interaktive, nonprofit Webseite in der jeder weltweit eintragen kann, wo es verpackungsfreie Waren zu kaufen oder abzuholen gibt.
Die Domäne ist schon angemeldet, aber die 6000€ werden diese Webseite nutzerfreundlich einrichten und die Kosten für die Gründung einer gUG (gemeinnützigen Unternehmergesellschaft) decken, damit Spenden auch später angenommen werden können und die Webseite nicht von Werbung abhängig wird. Meine Zeit wird nicht kompensiert, alles Geld läuft in die Webseite.

We are producing an estimated 5.6 million tonnes of waste annually. Up to 80% of this is disposable packaging. The UN now sees garbage as one of the great problems for the future of mankind.
Plastic is particularly harmful in the seas. Animals can get caught in the larger pieces
and die, others eat the plastic waste and starve with a full stomach. Over 50 trillion plastic parts are possibly floating in our seas.
In the course of time, plastic is chopped up by tides and UV radiation to microplastic, which also affects the environment and falls back on us as a consumers: fish eat the particles, which often accumulate toxins. Worst case, they land on our plates: Greenpeace has already found plastic in many edible fish.
How much plastic actually floats in the seas can only be estimated. A total of 150 million tonnes are expected in the oceans, with four to twelve million tonnes annually. In huge garbage patches such as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch the waste circulates in the seas. Experts estimate that 60 to 80 percent of the total waste in the sea consists of plastic. If we continue as we do now, in about 20 years there will be more plastic in the Ocean than fish!
To counteract this, we must reduce our plastic consumption. Disposable packaging must be avoided. This is not that easy in everyday life, however, because many products can almost no longer be found without packaging. In order to make it easier for the consumer to find food and household goods without unnecessary packaging, a collection point is urgently needed which can effectively disseminate this information.
zerooo.org is to fill this gap. It is an interactive, nonprofit website where everyone worldwide
can register and search for packaging free goods in the neighborhood.
The domain is already registered, but the 6000 € will set up this web-site for users and cover the costs of setting up a gUG (non-profit organization) so donations can be accepted later in order for the site not to be dependent on advertising. I´m putting in all my time for free.
