Greetings - For those of you that don’t know, Mike and Mandy (Baker) Jorgensen need our help.
Their little boy, Zeke, was diagnosed a few weeks ago as being an epileptic. In the last week he has suffered over 40 seizures. The last few weeks have been spent trying to get him on anti-seizure medications that will work for him, as he has been suffering horrific side effects from medications the doctors are trying. That has been a struggle to say the least. On top of that, last Thursday, 2/1 - Zeke had to be rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital as he had a seizure that they could not get under control. Mandy is a teacher and is now out of sick days. Mike is a supervisor and intermittently goes to work - but for the most part - they are living at Strong and haven’t left Zeke’s side. If you don’t know, 9 months ago, Mandy and Mike had another boy, named Henrik (Henry) who of course needs round the clock care. Mandy and Mike are both struggling as they miss him to pieces and go home every few days to see him - but they need to focus all of their energy right now on little Zeke.
Due to the overwhelming generosity of their family, Henry is being cared for by Mandys loving Aunt Laurie and sweet sister Allie. These two are sharing day time duties with Henry, all the while working their own jobs. As you can imagine, everyone is exhausted, scared, sad, and overwhelmed.
If you would like to make a donation to the Jorgensen family, they would be forever grateful. All donations at this time will go towards meeting the many needs of little Henry, as well as groceries, gas money, and the many meals the Baker/Jorgensen family will have at the hospital cafeteria while they are at Strong with Zeke.
When all is said and done, there will no doubt be medical expenses that won’t be covered by insurance. The money donated will go toward that as well.
At this time, no meal train is needed, but that may come later when Mike and Mandy finally get sweet Zeke home. It will be a long road of recovery for him when that happens and we want to make sure the everyday chores of life are easier on them so they can focus on Zeke and Henry.
