Help Zeb with bills and stuff

This snippet pulled from a newspaper article about what happened to Zeb:
"Police provided more details about the shooting at the neighborhood meeting, saying Drinkwater had escorted a woman to her car at around 1:45 a.m. when a man approached and told her to open her door and hand over her cell phone.
Ray wrote that Drinkwater saw the commotion, returned to the car and distracted the man long enough for her to drive off, but he was shot as he tried to make it back to his home."

Hey all. As most of you know, Zeb was shot twice last night (August 13) in an attempted mugging. He was escorting a friend to her car. Zeb's apparently going to pull through, but he's going to have some difficult times ahead. He'll be out of work for a bit and probably have some medical bills to deal with.
My thinking is this: let's put some money together for him. If he needs it for bills or to get by, then he can use it for that. If he doesn't need all of it, then he can buy himself something nice, fix up his car, or go on vacation. Zeb's an outstanding guy and a good friend, and I think it'd be nice to show support for him.
PS
Several of you have suggested that I raise the goal to 20K or thereabouts as Zeb will probably need a lot more than 5K to help with expenses and so on. I don't know that we'll make it quite that high, but I think whatever we can do will be helpful.
Thank you all so much for donating. I can't wait to surprise Zeb with this gift. (I'll take photos if he's feeling up to it).
