Val's Junior Year Japan Trip

JAPAN- Land of the Rising Sun

It is almost time for Val's school trip to Japan. Because of the nature of the trip, the children have to come up with the money themselves. They will be staying in Japan for 11 days. If you know Valerie, this is probably her dream trip. From a small age she has been fascinated by Japanese culture, the language, anime, manga, and so much more. Valerie is an extremely thoughtful, caring, and empathetic young lady. She is a straight A student and has received high honors throughout all of her schooling. She holds a 4.6gpa and takes all AP classes. She is in the mock trail club ( a club that practices fake law trials), the international language club, expression session club, anime club, and GSA club. She is a peer mediator at her school, which includes helping and counseling her fellow classmates. She recently became momma to her baby hedgehog named Sabo, AKA Cactus Rat.

Some info about the trip:

The due date for the trip is in Febuary of 2018. The trip leaves on April 13th and they will begin their return home on April 23th, 2 days after Valerie's Birthday. I am hoping to raise enough money for her to go. This would be the best Birthday gift she could ever imagine, as well as an amazing historical and educational experience. Here is a layout of some of the things the trip will include:

On day 1 the students will take their overnight trip to Japan. On day 2 they will meet their tour director at the Tokyo airport before settling in. Days 3 and 4 they will explore Tokyo. They will visit the cities largest Buddhist Temple, Learn about Sumo, Tour Akihabara and more. On day 5 they will stop in Odaiba on their way to Kamakura . They will visit the Hachimango Shrine, See the Great Buddha and continue on to Hakone, an alpine city known for its gurging hot springs and awe inspiring views of Mount Fuji. On day 6 they will travel to Owakudani, tour the Hakone national park, take a cruise on sparkling lake Ashi, ride a cable car up Mount Kommagatake, stop for a photo at Odawara castle, tranfer to Odawara station and take a bullet train to the city of Kyoto. Day 7 will include an expert guided tour of Kyoto. The students will then take a trip to Nijo Castle, wander through the Japanese halls, visit the tranquil gold pavillion, enjoy a kimono show at the textile center and visit the Fushimi Inara shrine. On day 8 they will take their last tour of Arashiyama, known for its shrines, temples and incredible bamboo forest. On Days 9.-10 students will do additional touring of Kyoto and Osaka before their departure home on day 11.

The total cost of the trip is 5030.00. This includes:

Round-trip airfare and on tour transportation
Hotels with private bathrooms
Breakfast and dinner
Full-time Tour Director
Daily activities, tours and entrances to attractions
plus a 2-day extension in Hiroshima and Osaka
Passport

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a trip Valerie will remember for the rest of her life. If you are unable to donate could you please share and like to spread the word. Thank you to everyone in advance.
